August 8th Tone Circle at MeWe Fair Bellingham/Ferndale
Your voice belongs here!
Join Lara on Saturday, August 8th, for a community vocal toning with Tone Circle™.
What is Community Vocal Toning?
Vocal toning is a simple yet profound practice that uses one of the most powerful healing tools you already carry with you everywhere. Your voice.
In a Tone Circle™ gathering, we come together in community to hum, tone, and sing sacred vowels along with crystal singing bowls or other musical instruments. We are not there to perform, impress, or be evaluated. The gathering is to use our voices as the healing instruments they are.
Together, individual tones align, overtones emerge, and the room shifts into a shared field of resonance that calms and relaxes the nervous system.
Attendees under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present.
Sales are final; no refunds. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to receive marketing updates from Sound Healing Therapy with Lara and Tone Circle. You may opt out at any time.
What to Expect
Each gathering starts with a short explanation of toning and what you can expect during a Tone Circle. There is absolutely no experience needed. The goal is to express what you need that day in a calm and sustained tone.
Here’s the shape of a typical gathering:
- Opens with a minute of breathwork to arrive, settle, and prepare the body and voice.
- As I begin playing the crystal bowl I’ll start toning. You are invited to join me when you feel ready.
- Attendees hum or sing sustained vowel sounds with me. No pitch required, no technique, just simple, sustained tones. Immediately calming, immediately connecting and activating energy centers to open up the voice to deeper expressions.
- Collective resonance builds from our blended voices, overtones emerging, the room finds its shared field. This is the heart of the gathering.
- Ends with a few minutes of silence to integrate and land before returning to the world.

Why Vocal Toning Works
Using your voice with intention and in community is one of the most well-researched wellness practices available and one of the least used. Research confirms that vocal toning and group singing:
- Reduces cortisol and stress hormones with mood improvements visible after a single session
- Stimulates the vagus nerve shifting the body into parasympathetic calm
- Synchronizes heart rate variability between participants; the group literally becomes more physiologically coherent together
- Releases endorphins and oxytocin, the hormones of wellbeing and human connection
- Supports emotional release, providing a somatic pathway for feelings the body has been holding
No singing experience is required. There is nothing to get right. Your voice exactly as it is is enough.
Bring Your Crystals
Sound is a beautiful way to cleanse and charge your crystals. If you have a favorite stone or crystal you’d like to energize, bring it along and place it near the bowls during the session. The frequencies will do the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be able to sing?
No. Vocal toning is not singing in any conventional sense. If you can hum, you can participate fully.
What if I’m self-conscious about my voice?
That’s exactly why you should come. The gathering is specifically structured to ease this self-judgement. Attendees can begin with humming and build gradually from there. Most people find self-consciousness dissolves within the first few minutes.
Is this the same as a sound bath?
A sound bath is a passive experience where you lie down and receive sound from instruments. Tone Circle is active as you are the instrument. Both support nervous system regulation and deep relaxation, but through different pathways.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing you can breathe freely in. Layers are helpful since the studio can cool down during stillness.
What is the refund policy?
No refunds — per Eventbrite event policy.
